PCB Assembly
Flex-Ability Ltd has been assembling components onto flexible and flex-rigid products for 20 years. Our assembly team have a vast amount of experience in all aspects of assembling onto flexible circuits and they are all fully certified to IPC J-STD-001 Class 3.
Our facility is able to fully populate boards from 1pcs prototypes to multiple thousand pieces which can comprise of any or all of the following:
- Surface Mount Technology – Fully automated Philips CSM84V pick and place machine with a capability of placing a full range of surface mount components including 0603 devices (we have a capability of assembling 0402 devices through hand placement), connectors, BGA’s and IC’s.
Our SMT facility is complimented with a HTC solder paste screen printing process and an Essemtec RO400FC 5 zone full force convection reflow oven with lead-free capability.
- Manual Solder Assembly – Our experienced hand assembly operators can assemble a full range of components including surface mount devices down to 0402, surface mount connectors down to 0.5mm pitch, LED’s plus all through hole leaded components, switches, sockets, floating lead cables and Tactile ‘Clicker’ Domes.
Our facility is set up with Mantis Optical Scopes and Qualitek lead-free soldering irons where we can offer the full range of solder alloys including leaded, lead-free, no-clean, high melting point, low melting point etc.
- Build & Potting – We have many years experience in part product build, potting and back-potting, and ecobonding.
- DuFlex Crimp Connectors – We have our own FCI DuFlex crimp connector machine which can apply Single or Dual row crimp contacts onto flexible printed circuits.
Testing & Serialising
As part of our assembly facility we can offer full post-assembly function testing on either customer specific test equipment, internally designed specific test equipment or on our Cirris ‘Signature Touch’ cable harness test machine.
Each assembly can then be uniquely serialised and supplied with full test reports.
Component Sourcing
At Flex-Ability we can either source all components on behalf of the customer or work with ‘Free-Issue’ components supplied by the customer.
